What a difference it is between Surrey and North London. I'm just glad I don't have to take the London Underground anymore! I definitely won't miss it.
It has only been a few weeks moving to my new place in leafy Surrey. There is a ton of work to do! I have managed to do bits and pieces but can't do much until the carpets in the front room and my bedroom are laid.
I am working fulltime and I have my final submission to complete as well. It will be my final submission by the way, then I have only the dissertation to submit.
I have however been drawing-up plans on how to transform the rooms and spaces I have. I intend to do most of the work myself and there are many projects I need to complete, but the one I am excited the most would be to transform the small room on the ground floor into a cinema room.
At the moment, it's filled with boxes which I cannot clear until the carpets have been laid. Once that done and the room is cleared, I will have to paint and decorate it. That's not difficult.
Whilst I have bought a blue velvet 2-seater for the room, projector and surround-sound system, I will have to build a 130" projector screen for the space. I can't do that yet until the room has been painted and decorated. Hopefully the carpet will be installed soon and I should be able to clear boxes out of the room.
Though, I still have other rooms I need to sort out. Bathrooms, bedrooms, study, walk-in wardrobe. It will be a matter of time until the exhaustion catches up with me.
There is also my garden and the landscaping. I have a cabin for my garden that I need to build, paint and decorate. I'm planning to do it myself as well. I did it the first time, then having to dismantle it myself and stored it in the garage.
I think I'll change the colour and style a little bit, just to make it in-keeping with my new place. Thank goodness that the garden in my new place is not so big as my old one. There isn't much landscaping to do as well. Knowing me though, I'm sure I'll find something to keep myself busy with.
I am a little bit worried with the timeline and with my other responsibilities. I have this private Christmas event that I need to organise as well, and it's coming up very very soon.
I do hope I can get most of the projects I'm planning to do before Christmas, especially the home cinema!
Perhaps I should document all the projects I am doing and post it here and on my socials. What do you think? I'm sure many of you would want to see the before and after,
I better start cracking then!
