With the soaring energy price, air fryer's popularity has been steadily increasing. Whilst they are very handy gadget to have in the kitchen, their size means they tend to take a bit of kitchen space.
I have not one but two air fryers and have had it for quite some time. It is a bit of an issue to find suitable place to store them, especially when I do tend to use them quite frequently. After almost a year I finally found the solution to this, and it comes from a simple and cheap item.
This is the wooden wine cooler I got from IKEA a long time ago. I have not used them since I got myself a proper temperature regulated wine cooler. What I did was I stacked two of these on top of each other. I made three sets, taking out necessary shelves to make way for openings for my air fryers. I then screwed them next to each other to make sure they are very secured. If you have one of these, you know how wobbly they can be. If you look carefully however, I sawed the top bit of my middle rack to fit my extra large roasting tin.
As you can see from the photo, I managed to make myself a nice rack to keep not only my air fryers, but also my plates and roasting tins. This way I don't have to keep moving the air fryers in and out of my pantry. They now stay on my kitchen counter and I can use them immediately when I want to. If you are wondering what that thing on the top left is by the way, that is a Thermomix. Problem solved!
The only thing is, I haven't decide wether to stain them. I quite like the unfinished wood look. I'm going to leave it as it is for now. If I were to stain them, I would either stain them with clear lacquer or paint them matte white.
